Well, you can’t go without them – that is pipe cleaners, stem & briar polish, reamers, pipe tools, tampers, cleaning liquids, mesh etc. Maintaining your pipe will give you years and years of good stories to tell. My favourite pipe is still a pipe I bought in 1980 and is in good service due to good maintenance.
I share my pipes and the story of them. For me, a pipe is not only a piece of briar, carved and turned into a shape through which you smoke dried leaves. Every pipe has a story…its like a relationship. Therefore, to part from any of my pipes would be very difficult as I need to break off the memories; the story of that pipe. Read about my stories, and the stories behind the pipes: who made them, where does the brand come from etc. Hope you enjoy! In short, my current collection has Bari, GBD, Georg Jensen, African & Turkish Meerschaum, Peterson, Keyser, Pietenpauw, Savinelli and Stanwells; in a variety of shapes.
You might only collect pipes, but if you occasionally smoke or puff, you also want to know more about tobaccos. At first I’ve just smoked whatever smelled nice at the day I was buying. But then I found Latakia….! I tried blending my own, I review, and appreciate the crafstmanship behind the blending of many wonderful blends. Safe to say that I’m a non-aromatic, English-type, Latakia & Oriental lover.
