My first pipe was bought in about 1979, just after I left school. From there I bought a pipe almost once a year, as I was not a serious smoker at the time (not that I am one now though). From the 1990’s I started raising kids and didn't smoke my pipes, except on the odd occasions maybe twice a year, untill after 2010.
Since 2013, I picked a pipe after a stressful time and sarted smoking a bowl or two. At first I thought this will “blow over” again…. alas, it didn’t (at least not yet).
Since then, I’ve been happy to score some really great buys from the “Bay”. I’ve come to find that all the Savinellis I’ve acquired, ended up to be great smokers. Naturally they have become my favourite pipes. To be fair to my other pipes, I can honestly say that all of the pipes I’ve kept (I’ve sold some which I didn’t like that much, although they were also great smokers), I really enjoy. If I have to take 3 pipes with me, it would be a very difficult decision, but it would probably be my Savinelli Punto Oro, Stanwell Hans Christian Anderson and my Piet-en-Pauw Zulu.
When I buy a pipe, I’m always interested where it came from and how is the brand name generally rated. I try to keep up with this passion of giving background information on tobaccos, pipes and other related stories.

Twaksak | Tobacco Pouch just happened after I started smoking my old pipes again in 2013. From there, I started to blog, then a YouTube channel and eventually made it a business to serve the Pipe Smoking Community. I beleive, when you do something with passion, you serve the Pipe Smoking Community better than just trying to make money.
Therefore I believe in Quality over Quantity and offers exclusive high quality products to our pipe- and cigar smoking customers. We not only sell briar pipes, tobacco, cigars and accessories but also provide valuable information on this traditional hobby.
Pipe smoking was arguably the norm for the previous generations, but for reasons we can only speculate about, smoking a pipe is nowadays almost the exception. We would like to believe that we are part of the growing community that re-introduced the joy and art of pipe smoking.
As you will read in some of our articles, pipe smoking is not only about "smoking", but its about the total experience of packing, lighting, tasting and relaxing (often with a book), pondering over the day or even some philosophical question.
We believe in quality; it maybe more expensive, but the "perfect smoke" is more attainable.
I am passionate about many things in life. Whatever I do, I prefer to go full-out. So, I prefer quality over quantity.
With regards with smoking a pipe, I enjoy the calmness and tranquility that goes with it. Pipe smoking is not a "quick nicotine fix", but rather a contemplative exercise which can linger on for mor than an hour.
Smoking a pipe has a long history. I would rather see more smokers smoking a pipe than smoking cigaretes.
